What's a CV?

It's a curriculum vitae... It's the best representation of your professional life.

Inspired by the root of the term and the ClearVoice name, a CV is a free, customizable portfolio you can use to get hired for freelance jobs. It's also the first step to becoming a freelancer for hire in the ClearVoice Talent Network.

CVs were built based on feedback from hundreds of freelancers looking for a better way to showcase their professional experience. Compared to other online portfolio tools, CVs give the freelancer more control, customization options, and freedom. There’s no coding or setup required.

Why do I need one?

Based on decades of experience in reviewing thousands of freelancers, we believe a CV is the best way to present your creative work to potential employers. It’s fast and beautiful on any device.

Creating a CV is also the first step in joining the ClearVoice Talent Network. If you want to apply to be a ClearVoice freelancer, you have to create a CV first. We constantly scan CVs in our network to find relevant freelance candidates who can fulfill the ongoing content needs of our clients. ClearVoice clients include top brands and agencies across the globe.

How do I use my CV to get freelance jobs through ClearVoice?

ClearVoice uses a robust algorithm to crawl CVs and find freelancers qualified to work with our clients. That means the information you put on your CV is extremely important. The stronger your CV, the higher your chances that we’ll identify you as a good candidate.

A strong enough CV also makes you eligible to apply for the ClearVoice Talent Network. If you are accepted to our Talent Network, you will automatically receive job opportunities that match your experience based on demand. Once you’ve been matched with a job posted by a ClearVoice client, they can hire you directly as often as they’d like.

How do I create a strong CV?

To optimize your CV for our matching algorithm, you’ll want to do the following:

  • Tell us your roles, topics, and the content type(s) you produce (i.e., a Writer in Finance who creates Ebooks).
  • Upload as many content examples as you can.
  • Tag each piece of content with the primary role you played, category, and content type.
  • Organize your content into sections to display the variety of your skillset.
  • Add a bio, tagline, and connect your social profiles.
  • Frequently update your CV and curate content we find from your publication queue.

What’s next?

After you create your CV, you can use it just like you would any other portfolio or personal website — share it with potential clients, friends, and keep it updated. It’s up to you if you’d like to apply for the ClearVoice Talent Network after creating your CV to actively be matched with freelance jobs on an ongoing basis.

“As a content marketer and writer, ClearVoice provides me with the opportunity to work with brands outside of my direct clientele. It's a terrific opportunity to increase my visibility as a content creator and a wonderful way to flex my writing muscle beyond the day-to-day client work I do.”
“At ClearVoice, you set your rates and let them know only to send you gigs above your floor. No more wading through mountains of garbage to find the one pro gig!”
“The layout of the dashboard along with the user interface makes Clearvoice an awesome, easy to use option for any freelance writer. However, the best part about Clearvoice is their customer service and staff. Your editors work right alongside you and all of them are friendly and excited to read your work. Clearvoice has been my favorite program to use for contract assignments for two years now!”
