Taking a Global Travel Brand's Content to New Heights
As a high-end hotel chain and management company, the Hawaii-based Outrigger is a premiere beachfront brand with roughly 40 properties across the world — including iconic destinations such as Fiji, Thailand and the Maldives.

Upon learning about ClearVoice at 2019's Conductor C3 conference, Marisa Guerrero (Senior Content Manager, Brand Marketing at Outrigger) was excited to discover a content marketing solution that could help solve her content needs at the time. Prior to that, Guerrero had spent five years trying "every iteration" of content creation — from hiring agencies and influencers to managing her own bank of freelance writers. "I really felt like I'd tried everything and nothing stuck," remembers Guerrero of her constant search before experiencing the ClearVoice platform and what she calls a "beautiful, clean and modern UX." An impressed Guerrero knew it would be a vast improvement on the "archaic" software tools she had access to at the time.

That's when Guerrero got the green light to proceed. “It was perfect timing on our end because we had a leader in place who was pro-content and SEO, and so everything was aligning in that regard." The teams then got to work, mapping out a plan to amplify the amount of blog content for Outrigger properties significantly. In what amounts to roughly six blog posts a month, Guerrero collaborates with Sarah Maschoff (Senior Customer Success Manager) and Jill Blackford (Freelance Producer) to generate blog posts and stories from writers across the world. But these posts don't just live in a bubble on the Outrigger travel blog — they're repurposed across all of the brand's channels. "There’s a lot of culture and authenticity in each of our resorts," says Guerrero, "so we use the blog as a means to tell those stories and then bring them into our property pages, emails, and social media."

Not only does ClearVoice handle 75% of Outrigger's blog post creation now, but having a content partner has freed up Guerrero to focus on bigger marketing fish. Guerrero calls the ClearVoice relationship "very important” because it's also leant an air of authenticity to the voice of the brand because of the pool of resources available in other countries — writers who have visited or have familiarity with — these iconic destinations. Another welcomed byproduct of the relationship, according to Guerrero, has been consistency. "I used to write the blog posts, and would squeeze them in when I could," reveals Guerrero. "There would be months with four blog posts and others with zero. ClearVoice provides a consistent six per month, which helps us plan ahead."

The Outrigger brand is all about "love and respect for the land and sea," two natural forces working in sync to deliver a thing of beauty. It's an apt metaphor for how the partnership between Outrigger and ClearVoice has worked thus far. One reason, as Guerrero puts it, is because of teamwork. "We have so many requests on our end that we can't keep up with the number of articles that we need," says Guerrero of the steady demand from Outrigger properties across the world. "ClearVoice is definitely nailing it from a brand perspective and really putting on their Outrigger hat when they work with us... and that's been huge."
